A blog for all those crazy enough to dream and even crazier to chase them

MY WRITING
Poems and Short Stories
These are the stories that my imagination has created. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them.
Childhood
A Collection of Poems
Childhood
In the eyes of a child, all is new.
The ocean doesn't have to be blue.
Dreams come true.
A pure heart, imagination, and curiosity too.
We wish on stars,
The world is ours.
So take note my dear grown ups.
For us children are wise.
With innocence we rise.
Memories are the prize.
Time stops for no man, life doesn't cry,
So let our souls stay young for eternity,
And let our childhoods never die.

Knot, Loop, Loop, Bow
Knot, loop, loop, bow.
Knot, loop, loop, bow.
Don't get discouraged you say.
You will get it one day.
Knot, loop, loop, bow,
But it keeps coming undone.
My sneakers won't tie,
My shoes will fly,
Off, off they go.
Off, off they go.

My Wildflower
Sunny, green meadows. Early amber fields.
Of all the beauties the earth yields.
You are the best.
Marigolds, sunflowers, daisies, you’re above all the rest.
With your leaves so silky and your petals so lush.
I skip through the breeze to pick you in a rush.
Roses, tulips, lavender, none compare.
I pray you never wilt, I pray you never wear.
For if you do, I may too.
You’re different from the others.
My flower, I’d never want another.
But if you were to go and return to the ground.
Your place of birth where you were found.
Let me say a final goodbye.
Because to me, my wildflower,
You’ll never die.

In Your Arms
Lighting flashes,
Thunder crashes,
But I am safe in your arms.
The rocking chair creaks, as I weep, drowning out the sound.
Go to sleep, my angel, you whisper in my ear.
Your lullaby is soft, as I drift off.
My protector, my guardian.
My fear is gone, when you are near.
Forever and always hold me here.
My mother, I love you so dear.

First Breath
Cry.
I am lost.
I am scared.
And it is dark
The warmth of your body is gone.
I am cold.
Breath.
It just happens.
My chest lifts and falls.
As my screams echo through the room.
Warmth.
It hits me.
Your skin pressed against mine.
It is comforting,
And I recognize your voice.
Sight.
Light blinds me.
I see you, but you are blurred.
The picture is plain.
The world is big and scary,
But you are here,
And I am here.

Boo-boos
My knee stings, my ear rings,
As I cry.
Red drips, skin rips
As I say goodbye.
Dry your tears, my love
You pick me up and hold me tight,
Patching up my boo-boo as you turn off the light.
There, there you say, it will be okay.
It will heal, leaving no more than a scar,
And you will be on your way, traveling a far.

Forever Through the Night
Dark like the moon,
Bright like the sun,
Dusk till dawn I’ll hold you, little one,
And when you feel my arms fade,
It’s because you’re in slumber.
As dreams dance across your mind,
I’ll be down under.
Fret not for you will see me again.
As evening falls, my star calls.
Through the foggy sky, I’ll hear your cry.
Send me hugs and kisses, and say your prayers.
Then drift off to sleep, while I’m in deep.
And when morning rises, and the darkness disappears,
Open your eyes.
Because I’ll be there holding you tight,
all through the day and forever through the night.

Let Me Fly
I swing high.
I can touch the sky.
I soar like a bird.
The wind blows, tangling my hair.
But I don't care.
Fresh scents fill the air.
Let me fly,
For I don't like the ground,
In the heavens I am found.
Let them speak,
I won't give them a peak.
Being lost in space,
I am in my happy place.

Oh a Rainy Day
Drip drop, drip drop the water patters on the roof.
Clip clomp, splash stomp my boots squeaks in the puddles.
The sun is gone, and the world is gray,
But I’ll be outside today.
Spending time indoors would be no fun.
As long as the sky is sad, I’ll be on the run.
When its tears dry up, and the clouds fade.
In its place there will be a different face.
A beautiful rainbow so bright and bold.
Full of colors new and old.
Then I’ll smile and take off my coat.
The earth around me has awoke.
Oh a rainy day.
Oh a rainy day.

Sandcastles
I charge through the waves as they crash.
Dive in and make a splash.
Deep down under is where I belong.
Like a mermaid the ocean is my song.
When the water goes cold, I’ll dry on the land.
Running my fingers through the sand.
I’ll grab my pail as the boats sail.
Dig a moat and build a wall.
The sun burns me red, but my palace stands tall.
Once it’s done, we’ll enjoy more fun.
My sandcastle washes away,
As I swim in the sea.
But I’ll kick below the water, searching for its key.

In My Crayon Box
In my crayon box,
White’s bright,
Yellow’s light,
Red’s bold,
Gray’s cold’
Black’s empty space,
Green’s nature’s lace,
Purple’s the weird one,
Orange is the sun,
Blue’s the lake,
I’ll let the colors break.

Other Poems
No Tomorrow
The spring days were long.
The summer haze like a song.
The dawn was red,
Time was a gift mother said.
Roses wilted and the grass was dead.
The clock stopped, as I dropped.
Waited, counted, prayed.
But it was no use for it would happen, and I knew it would be soon.
Death hovered over me, could it wait till noon?
I feared it arrived,
and said a silent goodbye.
As the angels came,
I prepared to fly.
Everlasting life was a lie, ‘cause in the end, we all die.
No amount of joy could save me from the sorrow.
That was my final minute.
There would be no tomorrow.

I'll Fly to the Moon
One day when we're old and gray, I'll no longer see your face. So I'll look up at the stars and fly to the moon until I find you again.

A Day in the Woods
Creatures prowl, the wind howls as we frolic through the woods.
Shadows cast, running fast as you chase me.
The world around us turns, the waves crash in wonder.
The breeze slows, the sun glows, and the forest blurs together.
You catch up and I smile, a grin so wide.
Your eyes say the words that you can’t express,
The ones you hide.
I stare back into your ocean eyes, orbs so blue.
My smiles fades,
Laughter becomes a memory.
Once again I’m lost, dazed in a dream.
But I don’t want to be found so throw away the map,
Bury the key.
Freeze this moment for eternity.
All I could ever want is in front of me.
Won’t you stay?
